UK government focuses on tier-2 suppliers
As part of the UK government's IT cost-cutting drive, minister for the cabinet office, Francis Maude has announced that he will now focus on tier-2 suppliers.
Microsoft has selected an on-demand solution to manage all critical aspects of the supplier lifecycle - from initial supplier registration and assessment of risk to active measurement of performance, monitoring of compliance and maintenance of supplier information.

The US County of Bexar in Texas has selected new technology to optimise its supply chain management. The upgrade, which will see applications from Lawson Professional Services rolled out, aims to help the county automate financial reporting, streamline procurement and improve operational efficiency. Lawson Professional Services will be responsible for the provision of the implementation of the services for the project.
